About Rip Stand

After struggling to take of my surfboards in a tiny apartment, I built the very first version of the Rip Stand many years ago. I needed a small, portable stand I could use in a tight space that held my board securely as I worked on it. Saw horses never quite worked , and other solutions didn't hold my board at the best angle for repairs on the rails, or tail, the places where I seem to ding my board most often. Sometimes I ended up dinging my board in the process of trying to fix it!

A few friends saw the original design and asked if I would build them a stand just like it, so I fine tuned the shape and structure to hold just about any size board. I sourced the best quality wood to use, and streamlined the folding mechanism. My friends loved it, so I figured it would be great to share it with other surfers. So far other surfers love it too, and I continue to refine the design based on feedback.

Rip Stand is mostly a labor of love, designed for people who love their surfboards as much as I do. As Skip says, if you take good care of your boards, your boards will take good care of you!
